Ms. Hamilton (view headshot, view resume PDF) began her ballet training at age four with Nora Curran in Naperville, Ill. She studied under Maria Tallchief of the Chicago City Ballet for two years before remaining for 12 years at the Salt Creek Ballet School, studying with Patricia Sigurdson. She performed such roles as Snow Queen and Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Diamond in Sleeping Beauty, and Taglioni in Pas de Quatre.

At age 13, Hamilton choreographed a piece that was accepted into the Midwest Regional Festival, and won a full scholarship to a dance conference as an emerging choreographer. She has developed her choreography with four performance art pieces for Thirteenth Floor Gallery, Echo Gallery and Crobar Nightclub. Her most recent piece, Love Poem Op.47, was well-received at 2003's Duets for my Valentine at the Athenaeum Theatre.

Hamilton joined the Joffrey for their 1996/97 season international tour of Billboards. In 1997, Ms. Hamilton was nominated for the Princess Grace Award.

In 2001, Hamilton organized 'Opening the Curtain to Our Hearts' benefit (view video), honoring the children of the victims in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The evening at the Auditorium Theatre involved: Chicago Symphony, Steppenwolf Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre, Lyric Opera, Hubbard Street Dance Company, Chicago Gay Men's Chorus, Luna Negra Dance Company, Deeply Rooted Dance Company, and Joffrey Ballet.
